MailStore Home is an excellent backup solution for all sorts of email accounts – including web-based ones.

With MailStore Home you can easily back up all your email messages, no matter what platform you use. It works with both POP3 and IMAP protocols and with web-based email services like Gmail or Yahoo! Mail. Plus MailStore supports multiple email clients, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird and Seamonkey.

Using MailStore Home is piece of cake. Just click the Archive E-mail link and follow the on-screen instructions, which will guide you step by step through the process. If you choose a web-based service, bear in mind that you may have to change a few settings on the website.

Once the archive is created in MailStore Home, it can be backed up to CD, DVD, a USB memory stick or your hard drive. The archive is fully searchable, and you can also browse it using the folder structure on the left. The only thing MailStore Home lacks is a schedule feature to create automatic backup tasks.
